DAY 1. FLY ULAANBAATAR TO ULGII-JOURNEY TO TAVAN BOGD RANGER STATION
Take a 3-hour flight from Ulaanbaatar to Bayan Ulgii, the Kazakh cultural heart of Western Mongolia. Meet your local team and drive through the sandy mountains of Ulaanhus Village towards the Tavan Bogd National Park Ranger Station, gateway to the Mongol Altai.

DAY3: CLIMB MALCHIN PEAK-BORDER OF THREE NATIONS
Climb Malchin Peak (4,050m), one of the most accessible summits of the Altai Tavan Bogd range. Though non-technical, the rocky terrain requires caution. At the summit, stand at the crossroads of Mongolia, Russia, and China and marvel at panoramic views of the vast Mongol Altai Mountains.

DAY 5: TREK TO KHAR AIRAG VALLEY-MEET TUVAN NOMADS
Hike into Khar Airag Valley, the summer pastureland of Tuvan nomads. Visit local families, taste traditional Mongolian dairy products, and experience a lifestyle that has endured since the time of the Hunnu Empire and Chinggis Khan.

DAY 6: CROSS TAHILT PASS-ENTER TO BEAR VALLEY
Today’s trek crosses Tahilday Pass, a sacred shamanic worship site marked by ovoo cairns. Descend into Bear Valley, with crystal streams, alpine flowers, and hidden waterfalls. The scenery shifts from rocky ridges to forested mountains, offering one of the most diverse landscapes of the Altai trekking route.

DAY 8-9: TREK ALONG KHOTON and KHURGAN LAKES-KAZAKH EAGLE HUNTERS
Spend two days trekking beside the turquoise waters of Khoton and Khurgan Lakes, among the most beautiful alpine lakes in Mongolia. Visit Kazakh nomads, renowned for their tradition of Golden Eagle hunting, and immerse yourself in their unique culture.

DAY 10: DRIVE TO BAYAN ULGII-ANCIENT PETROGLYPHS and EAGLE HUNTER VISIT
Drive back towards Bayan Ulgii, stopping to see ancient petroglyphs and Turkic balbal stone monuments dating back 3,000–11,000 years. Visit a Kazakh eagle hunter’s family and meet their trained Golden Eagle, a highlight of any journey in Western Mongolia. Overnight in a local ger camp or hotel.
